sunshine

The sun shined. It's not January, you wouldn't think.

At lunch, I talked a friend of mine into sitting in the sun. I wanted some sun on my face. My face, my skin, knows it's winter. A bit of psoraisis popped up on my face. I got extremely itchy eyes, sneezing and a little headache. Cedar (really mountain juniper) pollen. My friend got a rash on her arm from the sun. Go figure.

Tonight we went to a dinner at Fonda San Miguel. It was a dinner honoring the hosts for "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" which is a benefit for Project Transitions. (They provide housing and hospice for AIDS patients.) On February 5, we will host a dinner party. A bunch of other people will, too. Dessert and champagne will be at Jerry Jeff's house. We all donate our food, drink and efforts. Money for tickets goes to Project Transitions.

Enjoyed talking to our table mates tonight. All giving parties. All very different folks. A hairdresser, a retired legislator, a literature teacher. The older couple was very saavy and they like movies. Asked for a thirty second review of "American Movie," the older woman said, "Hands on a hard body meets Fargo." Works for me...I'll go see it.

We walked to Fonda and back tonight. We should always do so, but sometimes we feel defensiveless on the street. (I know, I walk the dogs, but I get off Shoal Creek or Northland as soon as possible.)

Saw Amy Baker Stimson at the party, too. She's a young artist in the opera program and we saw her in 'Candide.' She's going to perform for one of the "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" parties. Saw David Currio there, too. Yes, there is a real David Currio.
