We were up and dressed and showered and packed in short order. We got a bellman to get our bags and packages downstairs (car trip...have as much junk as you want with you). We headed out I10 and only pulled out at Katy to seek coffee. I was certain there was a Starbucks. I couldn't spy it. We pulled into a Vietnamese donut shop (what is it that attracts the people from this land to frying donuts in the U.S.?). After we escaped with coffee and some donuts we saw the Starbucks. So we had a good coffee and read a few minutes.

Forrest drove all the way home. We stopped in Bastrop or somewhere for a cold drink and gas. I read my book.

Home we unpacked and I just left the toiletries, one of my pairs of dress shoes and a sweater in the suitcase for the next weekend's departure. Chalow seeemed to have had a happy time with her baby sitter, Matt. She seemed quite sanguine and said, in her own little way, 'get him next time you desert me...he gives me treats and hugs.' Matt stayed in the house to keep it safe but mostly to spoil Chalow.

Forrest had a plan to take care of some stuff and then get a pizza close to Super Bowl time. I decided to talk SuRu into going to Aranda's #3 and getting some TexMex. I wasn't hungry, really, I just wanted it. So we went. We had to wait for a table for a little while. Stuffed, we went home, collected the dogs and walked south in the neighborhood. I seem to be getting lots of cat shots lately. Couldn't resist this one.

When I got back, Forrest was gone and I figured he'd headed out to pick up his pizza. Sure enough he arrived shortly with a Conan's. Super Bowl hype was starting on the TV. Who was playing in it again? I was sitting in the room for part of it, but that shouldn't be confused with watching it. I read some of the paper and went to Eckerd's twice. Once to take a roll of APS film and get a bunch of travel stuff like a small tube of toothpaste and a pocket spiral notebook, top bound. Once to pick up the pictures and get Forrest something. It's nice living a couple of minutes from stores.

I worked on my page, answered e-mail, enjoyed my leisure. I have a rough week that will be capped off by leaving on Saturday on a business trip. The week is rough because I have to have a look at the material for the trip and make sure I have everything I need for it as best I can. I should have probably reviewed the presentations tonight but if I'm giving up the next two weekends for work, why give this one, too!

Hey...I mentioned in my January 26th entry that John Bailey had made a funny typo ('principle photographer') and he's now edited it, once more proving the principle that truth on the Internet is a matter of pixels. Anyway, he mentioned this edit and linked to me. Scary. Eventually I'll realize that other people read this stuff. Anyway, he said he was tracking and some people hit him from here. Imagine that. I, too, correct typos all the time (and other stupidity). I don't admit it, though. Nah, you didn't see that on my page.
