And her great gift of sleep.

At lunch with a bunch of business colleagues, two of them 'diagnose' my wrist and hand problem as carpal tunnel. "Yes, you get numbness." I hate numbness.

American informs me that, in spite of issuing one of my free sets of tickets, I will now have to change dates or pay for an internal flight in Europe. A long call and lots of hold results in the instructions to take the mailed ticket when I get it to a service center, correct it and pay $340. I'm questioning cashing this reward. But it's a lot of first class travel for $340. I have to do business and I need to not have been through three stages of heck before I arrive. I'll be glad when I retire and I'm traveling for fun and I can just take the time when I arrive to get over it. When I traveled to Paris last year in coach and then went off with friends to play, it was OK.

I stopped off on the way to work at the parents. I gave Mom an e-mail, reviewed the cable box/TV relationship, helped her connect to e-mail. Just a couple of minutes. She was trying to call the cardiologist about discontinuing her nitro patches. I looked at the small rashes they cause. It's great to be able to take just a few minutes and visit in person.

I took the cure. When I got home from work, FFP had a meal made. Salmon on greens with fruit garnish and zuchinni and yellow squash steamed. I got out a dark German beer and drank half of it.

We tried installing QuarkExpress. I learned how Mac-tupid I was. (Must get a MacOs book...a new book is always my answer to everything.) Hopefully my missteps didn't mess up the film editing stuff on the other hard drive boot. Once we can start the program and see the menu, we retire to the living room.

I drink the other half of the dark, rich beer. FFP massages my feet with the best of his amateur massage training. He's very good. Hand and wrist feel better. Then he actually massages my hands. I've tried rubbing the numb left one every way I can myself. But feeling actually returns. I still have pain. But it's reduced. Ah, and deep satisfying sleep comes. Leaving a huge stack of unread newspapers, magazines and chores around the house. But I did wash the dishes after dinner. There are so many things I want to do. But tonight sleep is at the top of the list.
