Many Hearts

My day started by being asked to speak at a meeting where I thought I was just an observer. Oh, well. No problem.

I tried to find ways to make things happen without the organization being, well, organized the way I need. I talked to a techie about an interesting technical problem.

Our idea of Valentine's is to eschew the little romantic tête-à-tête, one-on-one and invite a dozen friends to enjoy the evening. Unfortunately, getting a huge table for Valentine's isn't easy and we had to wait over an hour past our 8PM reservation to get a table. Still, we were quite jolly and, honestly, the rest of the people didn't look like they were having all that much fun.

Our friend, Bill, who has know Forrest and long time and his squeeze, Sara, who has also known him a long time were there. They met in business somewhere. Bill wanted to know where we had met the other people. Hmm..."on an airplane, she's our bookkeeper who knew someone I worked with years ago and started working for us, she met FFP online and then met her husband online, at a wine and cigar dinner, at a going away party (they came back) for the people we met at the wine and cigar dinner, at a ballet function."

"Do you think that people will always like each other just because they all like you?"

"Hmmm...well they will probably like SOME of them!" (Actually, three couples are good friends, in any case, even if we did initially meet two couples separately.)

We also had a single woman and our friend Deb whose husband was out of town.
