Walkies. I really enjoy them when I do them. I should do them more often.

We went without Chalow who was going to get her sutures removed. We decided to walk over the Hancock overpass over Mopac. We wandered on some streets we'd never really done. We went to Russell's and I had an overlarge cinnamon roll. It wasn't the Upper Crust kind that has too much butter and that I can't eat. It was just too big. We wandered over by Highland Park Elementary, let Zoey run a bit and then got water out of a barely functioning fountain into my empty coffee cup for her to drink. I hadn't brought the water bottles because we were afraid it would upset Chalow if I gathered up gear and she couldn't go.

I worked until the evening except for a break to go to Grapevine Market and get some champagne for our anniversary party. We picked a 1993 vintage Veuve Cliquot Rosé. We got a couple of other bottles of wine---Chianti, Shiraz and a six-pack of dark German beer for me.

I worked some more until time for the Zachary Scott Theater Red, Hot and Soul party. They had beer and soul food and a band called Monkey on the Bed played. We visited with friends, talked about last night's Carmen. We watched The Flaming Idiots perform. We'd seen the show before. They obviously weren't real keen on performing it without AC or bad and with poor lighting on a dinky stage. But they were troopers. They also figured, probably correctly, that most people at a Zach Scott fundraiser had already seen the show. We bought a dinner thing in the live auction. We left before the soul band. Too tired. A bit of reading and a long, pleasant sleep. Making up for a week of very poor sleep. (Must learn to get sleep when at these conferences!)
