best intentions

A day in which I have the best intentions to make progress, check things off the list, be productive, be healthy. However.

Meant to get up earlier than usual. Felt like getting up but it was raining and Forrest and the dog felt like sleeping in. So, of course, I did it, too. When Forrest gets up early, I usually don't feel like it. I ran around changing the laundry we forgot about yesterday and finishing that and starting the dishes and looking at my 'to do' list and writing e-mail including some to FFP about things we need to handle. But I didn't get to the club early. It was like I was doing things I should have done yesterday.

I did OK by my exercise routine when I finally got to the club but it was 11am before I got back. I nibbled while reading the papers in an idle and unorganized fashion. My dad called about then. He wanted me to come over and help him with something. I figured I'd stop by a friend's house and return something and I chatted with her. Dad and I moved some stuff around and discussed things.

When I got home, I wrote 'thank you' notes but instead of just writing them on some blank notes or something, I decided to make them and got distracted finding pictures to use and then printing and gluing. Then I spent time in the actual writing of my thanks and the looking up of addresses and addressing envelopes and locating stamps. It took too long, but it was done according to the standards I've set.

I also spent some time testing my WEB host that has had the denial of service attack since they claim it's all better. They are still slower than the new space I bought.

It wasn't that I didn't do anything or even that I was all that lazy (OK, there was sitting in my chair dozing in the afternoon and later in the night, after dinner).

Food Diary.

coffee, coffee

11:30 water, raw vegies (carrots, squash, zuchinni, brocolli) and low-fat dip and sweet potato chips, water

4:30pm it will only be a few hours before we go out...but I'm hungry...have some cheese? Yeah, some cheese, a few tortilla chips and strawberries.

7pm meet friends and start with fuzzy water but move on to appetizers (stuffed mushroom, ahi tuna, a shrimp) and wine and a Caesar salad and a petite filet (which I almost ate with a little help from FFP). Finish with a coffee and liqueur drink with whipped cream. Don't feel as full as you might think.

Reading.

Robert Massie's Peter the Great...Peter is at war with Sweden.

Still reading Journey Through Genius. Gotta love the Arabs for their numbers, don't you?

What's my excuse today?

Actually today the excuse is that I have to do things like thinking about a trip or two, writing 'thank you' notes. Still...I make time for the gym, for socializing, for reading. And for surfing the WEB.

Exercise

15+ minutes recumbent bike
Lower body plus biceps, triceps. Abs and lower back.
