back to reality

This is my usual life. But the short vacation made it seem strange.

I tried to get back into 'normal' mode today. What's normal? Well, a trip to the club to workout. Things seemed just slightly odd, though.

I try to work around the maid to accomplish some things. I should be cleaning up the garage, storage, shed and yard. But FFP goes off and I'm answering the phone. I could set the answering service, of course. But I just don't. FFP has asked me to put together another ad for the building. He's asked me to send pix of SF to people. I do the ad and later fix it to his liking. I do a WEB page of all the pictures so I can just point people to it if they are interested. I write some e-mail.

Finally I do go out and clean out the filter on one of the ponds and survey the other things I need to do out there in the yard. It's not much but it's something.

In the evening, I try to attack the papers. We half watch the All Star game, irritated by the cutting in and out that is somewhere between the cable coming in and the amp (since the VCR and DVD work fine). That media system with it's hard to reach cabling is always irritating me. Don't let it, I think. Anyway, we end up in bed watching the game, reading. I keep falling asleep. I just can't get my rhythm. Maybe tomorrow. It's just jet and vacation lag. I used to go back to work in this mode and accomplish no more than this. And get paid for it.

JUST TYPING

Just the usual.
Get a workout.
Try to tidy things up.
Feed myself.
Try to manage our mundane life.
Pay bills, thank you notes, the building.
Vacation was better.

Food Diary.

Some seedless grapes. 3/4 ounce Laughing Cow cheese. (That's fifty calories says the package.)

Some cheese and carrots.

Some cheese and chips.

[Yeah...I couldn't figure out what to eat and the cheese was just there. The 'all cheese' diet, you now.]

About half of a very large frozen Michaelangelo's Eggplant Parmesan. Says on the package six 280 calorie servings and six servings. Sounds like 840 calories to me.

A couple of strawberries.

Time flies....

It seemed that time just slipped into a void today. I got the workout in pretty early. Then the computer, my addled brain, whatever, just ate up the time.

Reading.

A French Affair: The Paris Beat, 1965-1998 by Mary Blume.

This is a good collection...covering everything from the French attitude toward money and land to the student uprisings of 1968.

I'm no writer, let's face it. Not even a scribbler.

Exercise

Fifteen minutes biking to nowhere.

Upper body (chest, back, shoulders) workout.

Twenty minutes on bicycle.

.

My mood is suffering from a feeling of denouement over the vacation and anxiety over getting the house presentable for the party a week from Friday.
