and what do you have to show for eleven months?

I've been retired eleven months. What do I have to show for it? How has my life changed?

I think I can sum it up this way: I am fitter, I spend more time with family and friens and I'm am more realistic about what I might accomplish.

The fitness has come gradually. But I can feel the difference all the same...stronger, lighter, more flexible, better endurance and almost never ill. Now if I would just do more abdonminal work and improve on the chest exercises and, and, and..... Getting fit is not a destination. It's a new lifestyle. And my diet? Well...that could improve infinitely, I think.

I not even going to look at the retirement recaps and the resolutions. Maybe next month, when it's been a full year. Maybe I can accomplish a few things in the interim. Stranger things have happened.

JUST TYPING

Being busy.
Partly in my head.
Not having to work releases time.
But you have to be careful.
Or it fills.
To overflowing.

Food Diary.

About 1pm
three pieces American cheese; two pieces smoked turkey; some potato chips and spinach dip; some tortilla chips and green onions

About 8pm
spinach, tomato, green onion, cheddar cheese and Marie's bleu cheese viniagrette dressing; chicken with mozzarella and tomato sauce and salsa

Three (3) vodka tonics.

Time flies....

I spent time typing old paper travel journals and volunteering at the AGLIFF ticket office. It was something different and I enjoyed it.

Reading.

From the Journals of M.F.K. Fisher. I'm about half way through this. It's interesting in the journal entries juxtaposing the health struggle of her husband and the world struggle of 1940.

I read the papers.

I wrote a few sentences of fiction today and typed a lot of journal stuff. What good that will do, I'm not sure.

Exercise

Recumbent bike 22 minutes.

Lower body and arm exercises. Abs (25/20/20/15)

Recumbent bike 30 mnutes.

Felt fine getting up. I seem to require less coffee and more water as time goes on. Maybe it's the exercise and the heat.
