spam spoofer

So today I deleted 10,000 plus returned and rejected messages caused by some spammer spoofing a client's domain. No one uses email on the domain but the morass was using up disk space. I also spent time on line with the support guys finally working out a solution to dump the mail into a black hole. Someone should condemn these spam guys to a life trying to deal with their own crap. I'm against the death penalty...except for spammers.

The death penalty is sort of barbaric. And yeah, I know Texas continues to execute people and I saw Monster's Ball and The Green Mile and all that. But boy I hate people who spam, telemarket, con and all that junk. Stiffer penalties all around. Send the hackers away for life! Sadly, we just want to punish digital music shoplifters. Well, the big music companies do. Someone should get after these punks who are costing us all a lot of money.

So, if you get junk mail from fondasanmiguel.com don't blame the best Interior Mexican restaurant in the U.S. or, for that matter, me. I'd do something about it if I could.

While we are on the subject of spam...I've noticed a new trend toward selling Vicodin and Lortab and other painkillers by the spammers. I attribute this to the pain caused by the enlargements of body parts using devices, patches and pills people bought from these same people. Next, they will be selling the Rush Limbaugh patented pain-killler addiction recovery kit. Of course, through it all they run up your credit cards and then offer you relief from debt. Offers of sex continue and seem to become more specializd although I do wonder why one would care if the pornography subjects were drunk or not.

And I must admit this: although I recieve too much spam and spoofing is a crime against nature punishable by death...I rely on a little spam to make sure my e-mail is working. Saves sending all those 'This is a Test' and 'This is Another Test' messages.

Food Diary.

breakfast
nothing

lunch

enchilada plate at Jorge's with refried beans and rice
a bunch o' chips and salsa

snacks

wine at reception (three small servings in a plastic cup)

dinner
several pieces of barbecued chicken
a tiny serving of brisket
some baby back ribs (four or five)
small serving potato salad
some cole slaw
a large slice of whole wheat bread
about half a scoop of vanilla ice cream

Today I didn't
- finish all the refried beans
- have butter on that big slice of bread
-eat at the party even though I'd gorged at County Line
- have a beer with the Mexican food or the Barbecue
Today I did
-remember that I didn't write down a few consumables from other days like peppermints and a small sack of savories from Japan of unknown calories and, let's face it, contents

Time flies....

I went into the gym and did a few things before water aerobics. After water aerobics I cleaned up and went home. I had to deal with a spammer spoofer for one of FFP's clients for the next couple of hours although I did find a little time to work on the journal and write and send an e-mail for Dad. Then Dad and I had lunch with my second cousin (he has Mary Anna Poindexter as his great-grandmother on his mother's side, his mother and Dad are first cousins). After lunch I continued working on the spam problem until FFP and I had to go to a very early dinner with some clients who are in town and then guide them to Central Market. We rushed back home, brushed our teeth and dressed up some more and went to a membership reception for Hospice Austin. We hobnobbed with the usual suspects and came home to some chair sitting and reading.
