*Notes

AUSTIN, Texas, July 27— This hour of tennis was a fairly good workout.

AUSTIN, Texas, July 20— Day off.

AUSTIN, Texas, July 19— I didn't do one of the exercise in this routine (assisted chin ups) and I really need that one to strengthen rhomboids and my wimpy arms, too.

AUSTIN, Texas, July 13— I did a one hour tennis exercise class and played another hour or so in a singles match. It felt like exercise with the heat!

AUSTIN, Texas, July 11— I did nothing. Except clean and straighten.

AUSTIN, Texas, July 9 — I have sort of reached a plateau. It is hard for me to motivate, especially for the weights. But I somehow do it. I read a paragraph or two between sets or dream of other things. Today I was going to add back an exercise from the first of my professionally-designed routines but I didn't have the umph at the end. I think the important thing is to keep after it, doing a little every day. I certainly 'used' my fitness in Europe. I walked a lot, climbed stairs, lifted luggage. I never got sore or out of breath or too tired. (Although stopping for a drink here and there didn't hurt.)

AUSTIN, Texas, July 6 — The tennis was intense, though, even if it was just an hour. We sprinted part of the time.

AUSTIN, Texas, July 5 — Shoulda done more!

AUSTIN, Texas, July 4 — Today I did nothing.

AUSTIN, Texas, July 1 — I am still having trouble working out as long as I think I should. I omitted one of the exercises in the routine I did today.
