"Look out kid
It's somethin' you did
God knows when
But you're doin' it again."

Bob Dylan, Subterranean Homesick Blues

you finally have to go back

I didn't get to sleep early last night. Nevertheless I set the alarm for 5:10. Someone had turned the volume up. Way, way up. Whew. FFP didn't need to get up. But he did. And he made me coffee. I showered and dressed. Dad said he'd come by at 6AM. I didn't know how early he'd be. 5:40. At least the airport is open at that hour. I unloaded baby, suitcases and Dad at the curb and parked in the garage. They had gotten boarding passes and headed to the gate when I got back in the terminal. I saw my buddy Shawn who was on the same flight with Jen and Jack.

We talked and I drank a second cup of coffee. Jack looked at planes, tried the pay phone and the newspaper machine.

Jen and Jack boarded. The flight wasn't too crowded and they got a first class seat again. We saw them on the plane and when I came back here the flight tracker showed them in the air. Before I headed into the office, it showed them in Colorado air space.

At work, I've decided that there are some things that I can work on and I'm concentrating on those. I will avoid the futile. If I can.

Four of us gals of a certain age went to Siena. I didn't know they were open for lunch but my dentist mentioned it. I had a delicious soup. Mushrooms and bread with cheese. That and the bread and olive oil would have done nicely. I had some pasta with wild boar braised in Chianti with more mushrooms. Ate two much. Little sleep last night. Needed nap. Actually accomplished a little at work in the afternoon.

Came home after work and my mom and dad brought my Aunt Katie by to see us. She and her husband were headed to the Hill Country. She and Mom wanted printouts of Jack pictures. They had coffees. They'd been out to dinner. We watched Millionaire. My Aunt Katie kept saying FFP should go on the show. "Why don't you?" he said. A good answer, that.

When they left FFP sauteed a chicken breast and chopped it and seasoned it and chopped tomatoes and onions for a chicken taco. (Topped with cheese and jalapenos and hot sauce, too, of course.) I drank a Miller Lite. We watched You Are the Weakest Link! The guy who won didn't know which German General was called 'the desert fox' and the other person eliminated at the end didn't know who was the chairman of the Federal Reserve.

I'm very sleepy tonight. I only had a few hours last night. Sleep is always good in those situations unless you get too tired.
