the retirement tributes pour in

"Few men of action have been able to make a graceful exit at the appropriate time."
Malcolm Muggeridge, British Journalist

It is not enough to be happy; it is necessary, in addition, that others not be.

Monday, Monday

I do start the day with a leisurely workout. But...

I spend time in frustrating conversation with our ISP. Not a good start. Looking back, I think I got screwed and walked into spending more time to straighten things out. When companies buy other companies, it ain't neccesarily a good thing! Almost never.

The rest of the day is banks and lawyers. Handing out death certificates, figuring out where to get more if necessary, getting things notarized, making calls where on the second or third try I find the magic combination of menu options. But surely it will be over soon.

At day's end, there are leftovers, a glass of wine, another thank you note, some TV. I vow to really not work until tomorrow noon. Unless, of course, my ISP screws up again.

JUST TYPING
It's Monday.
I don't work.
And, yet, it seems like work.
