eating out

We take FFP's car to the shop. I go to the club after and do my upper body and biking to nowhere.

I have lunch at Pars Deli with a Nancy. We discuss work (hers) and retirement (mine) and her kids. It's pretty good food.

In the evening I go to Jean Luc's Bistro with LG, SuRu, Gayle. FFP watches basketball instead. I like my food but Gayle isn't crazy about hers. I like the glass of bubbly and the Burgundy. We discuss the war, the French, the Europeans and their feelings toward the U.S.

The journal is an addiction.

A worthwhile addiction? I don't know. I can't keep it up but I can't stop doing it.

Sometimes you just give in to your addictions.

"On several occasions I have actually read parts of my diary aloud to someone. But too much 'publicity' is destructive to a diary, because the diarist begins, unconsciously perhaps, to leave out, to tone down, to pep up, to falsify experience, and the reason for the undertaking becomes buried beneath posings."

Gail Godwin, A Diarist on Diarists
