end in sight?

The endless remodel may have a cease fire.

I've gotten used to the remodel mode of living being the norm. Using the small front bathroom with the only other toilet way upstairs. Bumping into each other trying to get ready in the guest room and that bath. Having bedroom furniture and boxes and bags of new stuff for the room and boxed up stuff in the living room. Having extra things in the big room from the space in front of the remodel. Having a trail of cardboard from the backdoor but muddy feet trailing in the front anyway. Have a layer of dust on everything. Sleeping on a pullout couch. For three months.

This is normal.

Suddenly I can see the end, sort of. Yes, one way or the other, we will soon be living in the space. We will fill it with furniture. We will add wall and floor dings of our own making.

Soon it will be over.

Time flies....

Somewhere along the way I got a workout. We had the maid and another helper putting together furniture. I had to duck into the shower in order to get away for a 5:30 event. It was at the opera center...an announcement of their new season. Frankly, we found some pomposity in the event but we visited with a few friends, had a non-alcoholic drink and went home.
