drinking

There are many ways to do it. But it is a powerful drug

Usually FFP is the designated driver and drinks accordingly. For some reason he had a little too much and I drove home. There are people who can't drink a drop and then there is us. We usually know how to pace ourselves to be sober. But I have found myself over my limit occasionally and so has he. Lucky for my dad (who was with us) that I wasn't in my cups or he would have had to drive home. Or a cab would have had to be called.

Yep, that old alcohol is a powerful drug. I'll have to find out what FFP drank when we got separated. If he can remember.

And from now on one of us has to take the designated tag or else just plan on a cab.

Time flies....

I got up around 6:30 or 7:00. I watched a bit more of the Longest Day over again since I was getting ready to return it. I got ready for water aerobics on time but a phone call and then the realization when I got in the car that I was almost completely out of gas and the pumps being out of order at the first station I went to made me fifteen minutes late. Dad was a little worried. "I have lots of excuses," I said, climbing into the pool.

I went to the gym and showered the chlorine off and then rode the bike and did a little work on the mat before going home and eating lunch and doing a few e-mails and this journal and all that.

Somehow the day disappeared. My dad came over because he was going out with us and we left early enough to get to 219 West early. We ordered some wine and food and chatted up our friends who were singing and then other friends as they were arriving.

When the show was over we headed home. Poured FFP into bed and did a little reading.

Reading.

Newspapers.

The (never-produced) screenplay of Harrow Alley in an old issue of Scenario The Magazine of Screenwriting Art.

An article in an old National Geographic about the Marais district of Paris.

Thinking about Things.

Writing instruments. Pens, pencils, markers.
They are everywhere. In drawers, in cups on counters and desks. WIthout bothering to count I'd guess 200 or more. Of course, then you never have one handy that writes.

Feel fine. Amazingly, the food and wine from last night didn't upset me at all.

It's a Tangled
Web we weave...these
days of our lives.

One year ago
"At home we watch Auto Focus, that movie about the sad life of Bob Crane (of Hogan's Heroes fame) and then we watch a basketball game."

Two years ago
"Usually work just sullies time off so I try to put it aside."
