AUSTIN, Texas, October 16, 2005 — So, yeah this friend of ours.... Well, she's an acquaintance really. I mean, the kind of person you might be glad to see when you bump into each other at benefits and such and at mutual friend's parties but not someone you'd necessarily invite for an intimate birthday party. Anyway, she apparently has a birthday brunch for herself at Tarry House every year. This year someone couldn't make it and reservations were set and a mutual friend said "why not Linda and Forrest?" There you go.

Tarry House, in case you don't know, is a club that wouldn't have me as a member. I don't think, anyway. But I'm not really trying to join up

anyway. My club is the ultimate club for me. But I digress.

I managed a workout before getting ready for the brunch. We dressed up. The mutual friend said 'coat and tie.' They were serious about that. In the room the brunch was in, men had to have jackets and ties. Some guys were having to tie on from the attractive closet selection.

We enjoyed a toast of drinks and a sit down brunch. Had a good conversation with a guy I met earlier at a benefit at his house.

The thing is after a mimosa and a brunch you are pretty useless the rest of the day. Me anyway. I called SuRu and went over to her new rental and helped her unpack a box or two. She came over here with me and we had a soda and read the papers. All three of us went to Santa Rita and ate too much Mexican food. I probably drank a beer. You know how that goes. So we veged after that watching the end of the Astros game and some network TV.

Man, I need to do something useful with my life.
